As I write this, it's been two days since Dieter Zetsche, CEO of DaimlerChrysler, announced major reductions in Chrysler Group staff and manufacturing. He also announced that Chrysler and General Motors (GM) are talking about codeveloping and sharing vehicle platforms, powertrains and other technologies. He also acknowledged that Chrysler Group might be for sale.

There's been some heated discussion on iATN lately about our influence on global warming, both as individuals and as a species. What's being said there shows a sense of individual responsibility that's shared by many people in the automotive service industry. This is not surprising, given the generous nature of almost every tech and shop owner I've ever met, but I see an attitude in some that's a profound indication of the depth of the issue.
