Automotive parts professionals throughout the U.S. who recommend Champion spark plugs for customers’ spring tune-ups can qualify for weekly giveaways of the latest mobile MP3/video players and $500 “Secret Shopper” rewards through the Champion Spring Tune-Up promotion.

Federal-Mogul, maker of Champion spark plugs, is offering mail-in cash rebates through May 31 of up to $48 to consumers who use Champion spark plugs. Federal-Mogul will also offer free incentives to parts professionals who “talk up” a Champion tune-up during the promotional period.

When customers request spark plugs for any tune-up, counter professionals are instructed to recommend and sell Champion Iridium, Champion Double Platinum or Champion Platinum Power automotive plugs.

The parts professional then should write his or her name on the customer’s rebate redemption reminder card; when the customer submits the online rebate redemption form -- and includes the counterperson’s name, as indicated -- the counterperson will automatically be entered into one of the six weekly drawings for free mobile MP3/video players. 

In addition to the free drawings, counter professionals are eligible to win $500 cash rewards in weekly Champion “Secret Shopper” calls -- all they need to do is remind the Secret Shopper that Champion is offering rebates during the Spring Tune-Up promotion.

Champion Iridium spark plugs, available with a $2.50-per-plug consumer mail-in rebate during the promotional period, offer maximum performance regardless of engine or ignition type, the company states.

Each plug has an extremely fine-wire iridium center electrode that is “laser-locked” to the center electrode, and a platinum V-trimmed ground electrode to ensure the longest life and greatest erosion resistance. Champion Double Platinum Power spark plugs ($2-per-plug mail-in consumer rebate) have platinum on both the center and ground electrodes for longer life and minimal wear. Champion Platinum Power spark plugs ($1.50-per-plug mail-in consumer rebate) use a platinum pad welded to a nickel alloy center electrode for long life.
