Snap-on’s latest software upgrade, Bundle 9.4, gives professional technicians an easier and simpler method for diagnosing the common problem of Ford misfiring.

“Before the availability of Software Bundle 9.4, diagnosing Ford misfires was painful for technicians,” says Chris Hockett, product manager for Snap-on Diagnostics. “Until recently all they had available to them was Mode 6 or the technician could purchase an expensive factory tool to diagnose this problem.
Snap-on’s new Software Bundle 9.4 provides one of the best solutions in the industry to help technicians be more productive and efficient when it comes to vehicle repairs.”

Snap-on’s Cylinder Contribution Test for most 2000-2004 Ford non-CAN vehicles uses real-time data to diagnose Ford misfiring quickly. The test is automated, as it works when it is selected on the diagnostic tool – there is no manual intervention required by the technician for the test to proceed. Real-time means it is not delayed or recorded. Technicians will feel a miss and see the readings change simultaneously.

“Snap-on created an industry-first with the introduction of this test. It is the only non-factory tool which can deliver this capability,” concludes Hockett.

Snap-on’s Software Bundle 9.4 also includes 45,000 new enhancements to codes, data and tests, plus new and expanded Troubleshooter tips that go back to 1981. It offers more diagnostics power for the vehicles that technicians see in their shops most often, as well as new vehicle coverage for every model year from 1998-2009 with access to over 12,000 new systems, 10,000 more trouble codes and over 8,000 new live data parameters.
