The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Minnesota (AASP-MN) will host its final educational program for the year, “BankCard Secrets Revealed…Plus, New PCI Compliance Requirements: What Are They and Do You Have To Do It?,” Dec. 1 at Master Collision in Plymouth, Minn., and Dec. 3 at the PPG Training Center in Edina, Minn.

The sessions will be presented by the administrator of AASP-MN’s bankcard program, Mac Hardin, and will answer the following questions:

  • What are my responsibilities for new PCI compliance requirements?

  • Just who are Visa, MasterCard & Discover?

  • Who are the people calling for my bankcard business?

  • When can I surcharge credit cards?

  • Can I refuse to accept a credit card?

  • Can I set minimum or maximum charge amounts?

  • What can I do to be sure cards are qualifying at the best rates?

  • How can I avoid chargebacks?

  • Why does it cost more to process business and reward cards?

  • What good is the 3-digit number on the back of the card?

  • Will I save money by purchasing different equipment?

  • What’s the Balloon Principle and why should I beware of the low discount rate?

  • What questions should I ask of a processor that is bidding on my business?
