Purolator educating techs, advisors and the public on its filters

Purolator is helping technicians and service advisors explain to customers better the company’s two grades of oil filters – the premium Purolator PureONE and the Purolator Classic oil filter – as vehicle maintenance becomes more of a premium for some consumers.

Both filters are designed to fill the varying needs of the driving public and backed by more than 85 years of engineering experience. Purolator invented the first automotive oil filter in 1923.

Purolator Classic, the company’s top-selling standard line of filters provides protection against harmful engine contaminants, while the PureONE line targets the discriminating motorist looking for excellence in driving performance and the highest level of filtration efficiency over a long period of time, the company reports.

“It all comes down to how best we can serve our customers’ needs,” says Ramon Nuñez, director of Filtration for Bosch, joint venture owner of Purolator Filters. “Shops and retailer stores find Purolator oil filter options a good way to remain competitive and increase sales, while motorists appreciate the choice they are offered.”

At 99.9 percent efficiency, PureONE oil filter’s Micronic filtration media can filter out even the smallest particles of dirt, according to the company. PureONE offers the aftermarket the highest efficiency available and is engineered to trap up to 13 grams of microscopic contaminants (equal to 31 standard size paper clips) including dirt and metal shavings. Furthermore, PureONE’s PTFE-treated sealing gasket makes installation and removal easy and problem-free.

Purolator’s Classic oil filter, on the other hand, features a multi-fiber high-density media that holds back engine-damaging dirt and pollutants at a slightly lower price than the PureONE. Whether one is driving on the highway or around town, the Purolator Classic oil filter is 97.5 percent efficient, featuring an internally lubricated Nitrile gasket that makes filter removal easier, as well as an anti-drainback valve where applicable that protects against engine dry start.

“At Purolator, our goal is to provide our customers with affordable top-quality products that are easy to use,” Nuñez says.
