Hankook inks rink accord for Canadian hockey promotional campaign

Hankook Tire Canada Corp. and Hockey Canada are teaming up for a three-year agreement that will see the tire maker become a significant marketing partner with the organization.

Hankook scores exclusive promotional rights for its tires along with full event sponsorship benefits at all Hockey Canada-hosted events.

“Hockey is king for Canadians, and we believe the partnership will provide wonderful opportunities to be closer with consumers throughout Canada,” says Bryan I. Woo, president of Hankook’s Canadian operations.

The new pact includes six national events per year: The TELUS Cup, RBC Cup, Esso Cup, the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, the National Women’s Under-18 Championship and the World Junior A Challenge, along with a silver sponsorship at the Hockey Canada Foundation Celebrity Classic, the organization’s largest annual fundraiser.

“This new relationship will bring great value to our programs and events while providing Hankook Tire with a great opportunity to interact with thousands of hockey fans across the country,” notes Scott Smith, Hockey Canada’s chief operating officer.
