Citing a growing market demand, Cooper is increasing production capacity at its tire plant in Texarkana, Ark.

Beginning in January, the factory will be shifting to a 24/7 operation, and about 200 new workers will be added to the line. The facility produces replacement car and light truck tires.

“We are excited about this opportunity to enhance our production capabilities,” says John Bodart, vice president of manufacturing for North America.

Cooper has recently announced expansion plans at its Tupelo, Miss., plant and a continued ramping-up of its operations in Mexico. The company’s factory in Findlay, Ohio is also expected to increase production volumes.

“Through a focus on continuous improvement we are always in a process of improving our capabilities,” says Bodart. “This allows us to deliver high quality, cost competitive products to our customers and consumers. These moves are logical steps that align with our strategic goals.”
