Continental Tire has been selected as an original equipment supplier for the 2010 model Mercedes-Benz GLK to be sold in the U.S. market. Continental will provide its Conti4x4Contact in size 235/50R19 99H for the vehicle.

As a premium luxury performance SUV tire, “the Conti4x4Contact emphasizes a superb ride with crisp handling and the benefit of all-season traction and capability,” a Continental spokesperson reports.

“We are excited to achieve a technical approval for this vehicle, which demonstrates again our technical ability to meet the extremely demanding requirements set by Mercedes-Benz and is a further continuation of the long developmental history of our two companies,” the spokesperson adds.

The newly-styled GLK features several design and safety innovations, such as brake assist (BAS) technology, which shortens braking distances, and dynamic handling control systems including ESP, ASR and 4ETS.
