Pep Boys has established a new tire and auto service operation in Elgin, Ill.

The facility on Summit Street, which opened its doors on Sept. 30, encompasses more than 6,200 square feet with eight service bays. Services from maintenance and repair to tire installation are available, along with a small assortment of retail merchandise, service-related items and convenience products.

The new location joins 22 other Pep Boys stores in the Chicago area.

“Opening a service and tire center in Elgin as a complement to our existing supercenters in the surrounding area means we will be able to serve and satisfy customers in this neighborhood easily and conveniently,” says Joe Cirelli, the chain’s senior vice president of corporate development.

A grand opening gala will take place this winter. Elgin residents will be invited to join in the celebration and receive discounted services among other promotions and giveaways.
