Best Practices

A professional looking shop says something about the repair experience a consumer is going to have at your facility. With that in mind editors at Motor Age magazine have gathered and shared some of the Best Practices they have seen during their evaluations of the Top Shops in America. Flip through the photo gallery below. Hopefully these shops will spark some ideas for improving your facility. And if you want to contribute some of your Best Practices, visit Show Us Your Shop for details.

I think maybe the best litmus test for a shop, is to ask ourselves if we would take our own vehicle for service, and if so, why? If we are "turned-off" by some shops, why? My priority is knowledge and quality of repair. If my business is auto or truck repair, I want to complete those repairs like a skilled surgeon. If my business is large enough or part of a network which sets requirements for appearance and amenities, that's fine. What are YOU willing to pay for when you seek a shop?
